Interesting post, can you expand further on your statement:

“Poker Stars has a wonderful program where you can pretty much break even at the tables and get around $100K + a year in cash bonuses through their rewards program.”

No doubt I simply don’t understand the Stars VIP program but the above seems kind of unrealistic, how many tables / hands are you talking about?

this was interesting, but i thought for sure i’d see something about the PPA and supporting the group fighting to protect your very career. there are things you can do and ways you can get the word out to other players, taking your job for granted and waiting to see what happens 2-6 months from now is not the answer.

Well written stuff!
In Norway its illegal to play poker for money, but online is in a gray area. We have to pay tax (28%) if we win a pot which is higher than about 1500$, but we dont get something back if we loose, so u can end up loosing a session and still have to pay tax.. :S

BTW what do u think about the new tablelimits (in BB) at stars?
I feel like its filled up with regs at all the 40-100BB tables, and all the fishes and shortstackers are at the 20-50 BB tables.. therefor I play mostly at the 20-50 BB tables buying in for 50BB… but im not sure I like this pokerstyle.. What are ur opinion about this things?

I heard when Peter Eastgate won the W.S.O.P. He made less than Dennis Phillips after paying his taxes ??? So i know we have high taxes but some other Countrys are higher..But i do agree with you ,like the Government is bending us over and seems like they tax us on money we have already been taxed on alot of times// They take taxes out of the paycheck then the states tax us again on purchasing things. And the states make a killing on the Lottery programs..

Avg Winrates of 35 regs at 2/4+ in tablerating period in ptbb:

2/4: 1.92

3/6: 1.74

5/10: 1.27

better regs:

2.4, 1.9, 1.42

top players:

2.62, 2.27, 2.12

The games arent that diffrent right now compared to 09 for 5/10 and under at least, 1 fish + 5 regs.

Although you are right its mostly shortstack fish and the 5 regs + 1 fish thing is also very tough compared to other types of poker (tournament poker, sngs)

Also the waiting lists these days for those tables are out of hand… currently you can find tables though..
