First and foremost, thanks to all of you who’ve made the “Leatherpod” a success. It’s really getting traction out there, and I presume that’s because you’re telling your fans about the podcast. I know you have lots of options for poker instruction and analysis, and I’m flattered you’d listen to mine.
We’re going to start doing the podcast more often, and we’re going to start adding guests to the mix. I’m already getting a lot of interest from some pretty cool prospective guests, and I think you guys will be pleased. We’re also adding new features like hand analysis, along with some other cool stuff we’ll announce next week.
In general, I’m in the final stages of building a program to get you guys amazing poker content FREE, EVERY DAY. You support me by buying my books, and I feel I should return that favor.
Just as importantly, we’re working on improving the audio quality. Thank you for bearing with us on that. We started recording the podcast on Skype, which is great when your internet connection isn’t wonky. Amazingly (given what I do for a living) my connection has been VERY wonky. I’m working on solving that.
In this week’s Leatherass On Poker, I go off on the following:
- How the elite of poker are separating themselves with events like the ONYX Cup, and why it’s not necessarily a bad thing.
- The impact of this weekend’s PokerCon and the emergence of its Goliath owner, Zynga.
- The hypocrisy of the WSOP rule that bestows lifetime bans on participants caught smoking pot — and what that tells us about the event’s leadership.
- Why I still dream of winning a WSOP bracelet.
- Why devoted followers of Glenn Beck should stay away from the tables.
- My calculated move to play more tournaments, despite my assertion in “Treat Your Poker Like A Business” that entering tournaments is akin to buying a lottery ticket.
- My approach to showdown vs. non-showdown.
Plus, a new feature: Hand analysis. In this podcast, I explain this hand from the past week:
